At Gillespie Flight Center, located right at Gillespie Field (KSEE) in El Cajon, California, we do things differently. We’re not a pilot mill. We put the student first with custom lesson plans and scheduling that fits your availability – not the other way around.
Your Discovery Flight Experience
Your visit is split into two informative hours that give you a complete picture of training here.
1. One-Hour Guided Facility Tour: You’ll start with a welcoming walkthrough of our modern, recently renovated, and spacious classroom and office space. This is where real learning happens. You’ll see the tools and environment we use to train private through CFI-I pilots, explore our resources and offerings, and ask every question on your mind. It’s your chance to picture yourself training here – on your terms.
2. One-Hour Hands-On Flight: From the classroom you step straight into the aircraft with a dedicated and knowledgeable flight instructor. Your instructor will be show you the ropes – guiding, teaching, and supporting you every step of the way.
In the pilot’s seat, you’ll get familiar with the controls and try them for yourself. It’s fun, beginner-friendly, and zero experience is required. You’ll enjoy stunning bird’s-eye views of San Diego’s coastline, landmarks, and scenery while experiencing the freedom and excitement of flight firsthand.
